Change of name

In today’s environment of identity theft and money laundering regulations, evidence of your name is essential.  An application for a Driving Licence, Passport or even a bank account often triggers the need for an informal change of name to be recorded in an official document. Whatever your reason for wanting to change your name, we can help you.

A Change of Name Deed is the official way to record a change of name.  You can then simply use the Deed to evidence your change of name. If you want to go further though, you can formally enroll the Deed in the Central Register of the Supreme Court.

We are very experienced in this area and have prepared hundreds of Change of Name Deeds. Ordinarily, we offer this service on a fixed fee basis.

Take the first step and reach out to us now by either telephone on 01962 809056 | 02380 653785 or email us to arrange a convenient time on contact@mitchellryansolicitors.co.uk.

Change of name for a child

Parents can choose to change the name of a child under the age of 18, however, everybody who has Parental Responsibility for that child must provide their explicit consent to the name change.  Ordinarily, we offer this service on a fixed fee basis.

In cases where not all those with Parental Responsibility agree, it is possible to apply to the Court for permission to change a child’s name. The change is likely to be allowed in cases where the Court believes it to be in the child’s best interests.

We can help you by advising in relation to Parental Responsibility and obtaining the consent of any other parties.  If that consent is not forthcoming, we can offer advice surrounding the merits of an application to the Court and ensure that you are represented within any subsequent proceedings.

We offer a FREE first appointment, so take the first step and reach out to us now by either telephone on 01962 809056 | 02380 653785 or email us to arrange a convenient time on contact@mitchellryansolicitors.co.uk.
